Requirements for burying cable marker posts

Specifications for installing cable marker posts: 1. Material of cable duct marker posts (signs): Made of plastic-steel material, with the identification symbols painted in red paint. 2. Content of cable duct marker signs (posts/signs): Cable marker posts or signs should be installed within cable ducts; these should include signs indicating cable turns, intermediate joints, as well as electrical hazard warnings. Although the content of these marker posts or signs may vary, they must all include the phrases “Digging is strictly prohibited for electrical cables” and “High voltage – danger”, along with indications of the cable’s route and type. The requirements can be found in the cable construction drawings. 3. On-site installation of signs: Depth requirement: Outdoor cable marker posts must be clearly visible. They serve as warning signs and are generally placed 80 cm above the ground level. In straight sections of cable ducts, a cable marker post or sign is installed every 20 meters. At each corner where cables are buried, a cable marker post should be installed according to the corresponding symbol. A cable splice marker post should be installed at each splice along the cable. Signs should be installed every 5–10 meters at cable intersections and turns; signs shall be placed on both sides of the exit when cables enter or leave manholes, tunnels, and buildings.
