In some areas, coal-fired boilers with a capacity of less than 10 tons are prohibited from use; if their use is permitted, dust removal, desulfurization, and denitrification facilities must be installed, along with online monitoring systems that are connected to the environmental protection authorities. The first step is to determine the appropriate pollution treatment processes, after which companies specializing in such environmental protection facilities are selected through bidding. Once construction is complete, a third party is hired to conduct inspections. If the inspections show that everything is in order, an application for approval is submitted to the environmental protection authorities. These authorities then inspect the pollution treatment facilities and the online monitoring systems, and upon approval, they issue an approval document along with a certificate confirming that the online monitoring is functioning properly. After approval, it is necessary to ensure that the environmental protection facilities operate correctly. If any violations occur, they must be addressed immediately, and the reasons for them must be reported to the environmental protection authorities. If violations persist, the boiler must be shut down right away. If pollution levels continue to exceed allowed limits despite attempts to address them, the environmental protection authorities can impose daily fines.
