As the title suggests: Can lubricant be used on oxygen valves? Especially the oxygen valves used in coal chemical industries are exposed to temperatures of over 200 degrees, pressures of up to 8 Mpa, and operate in an environment of pure oxygen. Therefore, oxygen valves used in such operating conditions generally require degreasing and oil removal treatment. But, can’t grease be used at all on the oxygen valve? Lubricant can be used, but a specialized one needs to be chosen. Perfluorinated lubricants can be used.
According to JBT10530-2005, fluorinated grease lubricants should be of the same type as the perfluorinated lubricants used on the second floor.
It is best not to use it, as the ignition point is low in pure oxygen.
