During the coal chemical production process, inaccurate level readings can occur due to various magnetic substances sticking to the magnetic float. Is there any way to solve this problem?
I replaced the magnetostrictive level gauge with differential pressure measurement (for non-metering purposes), and the results were very good. It used to need to be cleaned regularly.
Temperature isn’t the main factor; if the measurement range is small, the differential pressure will be inaccurate.

1. The measurement accuracy does not depend on the differential pressure transmitter; it mainly depends on the accuracy of the density value. Differential pressure transmitters can achieve very high accuracy (above 0.1 grade), and they also have a long service life, good stability, and require little maintenance – these are the main reasons why I prefer to use differential pressure transmitters. Of course, not all measurements can be resolved using differential pressure. Regarding the temperature issue, in our facility, the liquid level at -40°C in the ammonia tank is measured using differential pressure, and the results are excellent; there has been no need for maintenance over the past few years.
