The pressure transmitter that was originally in use, with a range of 4MP, has broken down. Remote communication is possible, but currently I only have an EJA530A pressure transmitter with a range of 2MP. Can it be used directly if installed? Is remote communication possible with it? If it cannot be used, how should it be adjusted? Seeking help from experts
Whether it can be used depends on the level of work pressure; it won’t work if the pressure exceeds 2 MPa. However, with smart transmitters like EJA, the specified range is 2 MPa, but the actual usable range may go beyond that – the specifics can be found in the manual. Is remote communication carried out using a hand-held controller? EJA primarily uses its own Brain protocol, but it can also support protocols such as HART and FF, depending on the specific selection parameters.
The operating pressure should not exceed 2 MP. By this, I mean a pressure transmitter monitored through the DCS system; its original range was 4 MP, but it has now been replaced with one that operates at 2 MP. All of these transmitters use the Hart protocol for communication. Can they be used directly, or do the parameters need to be adjusted again?
Just adjust the ranges of the central control unit and the on-site meters to be the same!
First, it must be ensured that the operating pressure does not exceed 2 MPa; otherwise, substitution is not possible; If substituting, set the control range to 2 MPa.
You need to check what the maximum operating pressure is in MP – make sure it doesn’t exceed 2 MP. If it doesn’t, then you can use it. As for the parameter settings on the remote platform, you should set them to 0–2 MP
