No hazards were found as a result of the hazard inspection

Today, the manager led a team to conduct an inspection for potential hazards in the company; after working all morning, no such hazards were found! What does this mean? Is it just for show or is the quality really poor? :'( How is the routine risk assessment work carried out in large companies?) Is it just a formality, or can it truly identify potential problems? What are some good ways to conduct investigations? Failing to detect hidden dangers is the biggest danger of all. It’s easy to say, but actually carrying out such inspections isn’t simple at all!
For factories or facilities managed by a unit or department itself, they are seen and inspected every day; taking them for granted, it is indeed difficult to spot problems. At this time, it is best to bring in other organizations or individuals, especially those who have never been to this factory, to conduct the inspection. This way, issues that cannot be detected by those within the company itself can be identified from different perspectives and viewpoints.

It’s not necessarily just about identifying potential hazards; it also involves safety measures and management oversight. Potential hazards include three aspects: unsafe conditions of objects, unsafe behaviors of people, and inadequate management. What I’m thinking about now: are there any missing parts such as ladders, platforms, guardrails, baseboards, etc.? Are there any areas with severe rust? Are there any tripping hazards or debris on the platform or the ground? Is there a risk of the lamp shade or lamp base falling? Even whether there are potted plants upstairs that could fall easily. Is there water in the fire suppression systems, such as fire monitors? Are the valves on the fire service risers flexible? Is a cover missing? Sign-off for regular inspection of fire extinguishers? Is there any missing or damaged grounding? Pump lubrication, turning gear operation, and team inspection status? Are there any unsafe behaviors among the personnel? Status of process discipline enforcement, employee training, safety education, and accident drills? Are the emergency supplies complete?
That’s right, that’s exactly what causes trouble!
Safety hazards include: 1. Non-compliance with laws； 2. Those that do not meet technical specifications ； 3. In cases where there are no provisions in regulations or technical specifications, it should be treated as something that does not conform to the norms and common sense related to safety in daily production and life.
