What specialty is good for instrument technicians to pursue further training in?

Dear colleagues, I work in the field of instrumentation in the chemical industry, and I would like to pursue a part-time postgraduate degree, preferably one that offers online courses. Do any of you know of any good schools or programs for this purpose? It is quite suitable for those studying or furthering their education in the fields of instrumentation and automatic control; thank you very much.
Electrical automation involves a lot of work with instruments, and there are numerous job opportunities available; it is a practical field. However, it’s a waste of talent if one pursues research in this field
Mechatronics, mechanical and electrical engineering, or information engineering
Communication engineering or information technology are also good choices; they represent cutting-edge and popular technologies at present
Thank you so much. I originally studied communication engineering; some of my classmates went on to pursue master’s degrees. It seems that communication engineering focuses more on signals and signaling in later stages, as well as various communication standards and protocols.
