A few days ago, during a thunderstorm, the unit experienced some shaking, which caused the compressor’s lubricating oil auxiliary pump to start automatically, resulting in two pumps operating for the lubricating oil. I wonder how everyone stops the auxiliary oil pump in situations like this?
Close the lubricating oil outlet valve of the standby pump, and check that the outlet pressure of the operating pump as well as the pipeline pressure are normal; once the pump stops operating, the standby pump can then be shut down
The lubricating oil pump is a gear pump – can the outlet valve be closed?
Just stop the pump directly; the lubricating oil pump is a gear pump, so the outlet valve cannot be closed.
Set the lubricating oil pressure a bit higher than usual, then shut down the pump; after that, adjust the oil pressure to normal levels.
Gradually open the safety valve bypass of the automatic start pump; the operator should monitor the pressure in the main pipeline. Once the safety valve bypass is fully open, there is little change in pressure. At this point, the automatic start pump can be stopped, and then the safety valve can be restored to its normal position. You should check the outlet of the lubricating oil station – the check valve is located after the safety valve, which ensures a safe and smooth shutdown of the pump.
It might be the interlock cut-off, stopping the self-priming pump
Well, I think it’s sufficient to just remove the chain, but I don’t know why the workshop supervisor gets so nervous about it.

The new hydrogen pump can have its interlocks removed, but this cannot be done casually with the hydrogen circulation pump. It is very dangerous to remove the interlocks of high-speed pumps; the bearing temperatures can become so high that even the bearing materials melt, which constitutes a equipment failure.
In the “auto-start” mode, it is sufficient to manually stop the pump. If the lubricating oil pressure is low, the pump will start automatically, so there’s no need to worry. As a fallback, if it doesn’t start automatically, keep an eye on the pressure gauge; if the pressure is below the interlock value, start it manually immediately.
