I would like to ask the experts here: I graduated from a 211 university two years ago, majoring in Process Equipment and Control Engineering, and I am currently working in the area of utility engineering at a chemical plant. I would like to ask whether I am eligible to take the exam for Certified Public Equipment Engineer, and what requirements need to be met I have a personal inclination toward HVAC. The requirement on the website is a degree in this field or a similar one; my major does not fall within this category. Am I still eligible?
I could find it right away by searching on the forum. Those who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from another field of study and have at least 1 year of work experience can apply; thus, they are certainly eligible to take the basic exam. However, for the specialized exam, unless one has a degree in that specific field or a related one, generally 8 years of work experience is required. If it’s not for work requirements and is merely for formal purposes, it is recommended to consider other certificates.
