What are the causes of piston breakage in reciprocating compressors?
There was water hammer, right? ! There are also manufacturing reasons or excessive load
First, there is a problem with the piston material; second, there are defects in the manufacturing process; third, fatigue occurs due to long-term use; fourth, fluid accumulates in the cylinder, leading to cylinder collision.
There is a problem with the question wording; it is the piston rod that tends to break. The reason for this is that the cylinder and the piston are not aligned properly, resulting in alternating stresses acting on the piston rod in a radial direction. This is the main cause, while other factors include fluid shock and loose connections

Generally speaking, it is the piston rod that tends to break; if the piston breaks, there is a 99% chance that there is something wrong with the piston. The most likely possibility is the formation of cracks during piston casting

Our devices have experienced cross-pin breaks, and the main cause is quality issues. Are you referring to the piston rod or the piston? If it’s the piston that breaks, that would be absolutely unbelievable
