In the healthcare industry, the inner diameter of the sheath and the outer diameter of the probe need to match well. Operating temperature: -1~95°C. Is it necessary to use heat transfer oil? The customers said they felt that if the gaps were not filled, condensation would form inside, which could affect the instruments. . . . I plan to add heat transfer oil to them; I’m not sure what would be suitable. Food-grade white grease and vaseline were initially selected. I wonder if there are any other suggestions on the forum.
It’s fine without it, but it’s better with it. It seems that these two materials you mentioned have poor thermal conductivity; industrial applications use thermal conductive silicone oil, while it’s not clear what should be used for sanitary purposes. Actually, it doesn’t matter if it’s not added.
It is added rarely, for specific purposes.

Regarding the condensation water, I didn’t notice earlier how there could be condensation water on the PT100. Wouldn’t it be possible to use a protective sleeve? How can there be condensate water if it’s not in direct contact with the medium?

What the original poster is referring to is probably the condensation of air inside the sleeve when measuring low-temperature media.
I’ve never heard of it; if the gap is large, magnesium oxide powder can be added.
