Hello everyone, where does the acidic water from the reflux tank at the top of the regeneration tower in your facility go? What is the impact of full reflux on the top temperature of the tower?
The reflux tank for the top-phase acid water in amine solution regeneration is a full reflux system.

The regeneration tower consists of a stripping section and a distillation section. The rich amine liquid enters from the top of the stripping section; most of the acid gases contained in this liquid are removed within the tower. The heat required for this removal is provided by the reboiler at the bottom of the regeneration tower. The lean liquid from the bottom of the regeneration tower is pressurized using a lean liquid pump, then sent to the heat exchanger between the rich and lean liquids where its temperature is reduced. After that, it passes through a lean liquid cooler before being fed into the absorption tower. The distillation section of the regeneration tower is equipped with 4 trays, and a liquid collection tank is located at the lower part. The liquid in this collection tank is pumped out by the regeneration tower reflux pump, cooled by the cooler at the top of the regeneration tower, and then sent to the top of the tower. If there is a large amount of liquid at the top of the regeneration tower, or if the purified amine solution is available, water can be discharged to the wastewater stripping unit.
When injecting the reflux into the stripping tower, pay attention to the temperature after air cooling; a sudden increase in hydrogen sulfide concentration could cause instability in the plant. . .
