The coking wastewater from Jilin Jianlong Steel’s coking plant is reused in the circulating cooling water system after ammonia evaporation treatment. After a month of trial operation, inspections of the heat exchangers showed excellent results: the existing scaling issues were disappearing, and wastewater discharge was reduced to near zero.
One month isn’t enough to draw any conclusions; there are factors of randomness and other variables at play. Let’s wait and see the results after six months or a year – if it continues to operate stably, then that would represent a revolutionary breakthrough in wastewater and circulating water treatment.
Our technology has been applied in the treatment of coking wastewater in 10 projects to date; the earliest one is Shanxi Lubao Coking, where it has been in use for a year. A small amount of oil in coking wastewater is not a problem; it is best to install an oil removal device at the inlet to the circulating water system.
