1. Why are weep holes provided on the trays of a bubble column? What is its function?

This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2015-7-13 22:42. The weep holes are intended to prevent liquid from remaining on the trays during shutdowns for major equipment repairs. When the floating valve column is shut down, the bottom clearance of the floating valves allows all the liquid on the tray to drain away; weep holes are only present on the downcomer. There should be a platform at each rising hole on the bubble column.
The function of the tear hole is to drain the liquid accumulated in the tray when the machine is stopped!
The weep hole, also known as a drainage hole, is used primarily to drain the liquid from the tray during shutdown; its diameter is generally around 10 mm~~
Due to its structure, a bubble column has no place to drain liquid when it is shut down (there are weirs and vapor lift columns); similarly, the concave liquid receiving trays of a floating valve tray also need weep holes.
I think bubble trays don’t require weep holes; as for the downcomers, it depends on their arrangement, and generally weep holes aren’t necessary either
