What is the basis for replacing the lubricating oil filter element in a screw compressor? Can it be replaced by referring to the oil pressure level?
Oil filter manufacturers generally recommend replacing the filter after 4,000 hours of operation. In fact, it is also possible to determine whether a replacement is needed by checking the pressure difference before and after the filter; however, it is not advisable to delay replacement for too long, as there is a possibility that the filter may become damaged. It is recommended to replace it after 8,000 hours of operation.
There is no pressure difference gauge before and after the filter element at the site
Is it directly related to the lubricating oil pressure?
Yes, generally, replacement is necessary when the pressure difference reaches a certain level or when the replacement cycle is reached; otherwise, it has a significant impact on the compressor as a whole, increasing the risk of failures, which is not worth it
What is considered is the pressure difference; of course, the pressure of the lubricating oil also has a minimum value!
Install a pressure gauge on each of the oil inlet line and oil outlet line near the oil filter, or use pressure taps to connect them to a differential pressure gauge; determine whether it is time to replace the oil filter based on the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet pressures
