Now, all coal chemical projects have a main design institute. What exactly are the scope and content of the design work carried out by this main design institute during the preliminary design phase? What are the scope of design and design details covered by the air separation plant manufacturer selected through bidding? How do they divide the work?
Basically, it’s the air separation plant manufacturer that is responsible for the cryogenic tank, right?

In large-scale air separation plants similar to those used in coal chemical industries, the work is organized in this way: the owner first seeks a manufacturer who can provide the process packages for air separation. Typically, such process packages include all the equipment needed for air separation within the contract, but only the supply of the equipment is covered; installation is not included. The owner then hires an EPC contractor, who is responsible for the overall design, as well as for the utility systems, equipment installation, and civil engineering work related to the air separation plant
These days, it is the air separation manufacturers who handle the entire design process for air separation. Compared to the cost of the equipment, the design fee is quite low; if you purchase their equipment, the design fee can even be waived
The air separation plant manufacturers provide the process packages and cryogenic tank equipment, while the rest is handled by design institutes; the preliminary work can be carried out by the overall design institute, and the detailed design may also be entrusted to other design institutes. The factory building was definitely not built by an air separation plant manufacturer.
