Are there any specific requirements for backfilling buried pipes in general?
Inspection is required before backfilling; good quality soil should be used, and soil containing large stones is not acceptable. There are requirements for tamping hardened surfaces, right?
Inspection should be carried out before backfilling, especially to check the anti-corrosion condition; it is best to use sand for backfilling to prevent stones from coming into direct contact with the pipes.
Buried pipes are considered part of concealed works, and they must be inspected before backfilling. Fine sand should be used for backfilling, and there are also specific requirements regarding the level at which the soil is filled around the pipes. There are many other standards as well; in this regard, it depends on the drawing requirements of the design institute.
Hello, expert LCS8536. I’ve looked around, and I have the construction requirements for backfilling underground pipes here; I’d like to share them with you: After the underground pipes are laid and the construction is completed, they should be backfilled promptly once they have passed the inspection. The backfill soil must meet the following requirements: (1) The backfill soil should consist of silty clay, sand, silt, etc.; sediment and fly ash should not be used for backfilling ; ⑵ The backfill soil should be compacted in layers (with each layer being 300 mm thick). The compaction coefficient for the backfill soil in areas outside the road is 0.95; the compaction coefficient for the backfill soil beneath the road surface should be determined according to the road design requirements, but it must not be less than 0.95. ⑶ When backfilling and tamping, care must be taken not to damage the pipes. For steel pipes, steel-plastic composite pipes, UPVC pipes, etc., medium-grained sand should be filled to 300 mm above the top of the pipe, followed by filling with soil and compacting it. ⑷ The scope and final elevation of the backfill soil shall be in accordance with the road design requirements.
You’re welcome. In HaiChuan, we should share resources; I’ll do my best to help wherever I can, as that’s how we can improve our overall level!
I’ve learned it, thank you```````````````````````````````
What kind of pipeline? The specific specifications vary. For long-distance oil and gas pipelines, fine soil is used for backfilling up to 300 mm above the pipe top, while native soil is used for backfilling up to 300 mm above the trench bottom; the backfill is compacted in layers with a density of 90%. There is one layer of 300 mm thickness. Different requirements apply to sections made of stone and those in the Gobi region
