There are two reasons for self-starting: 1. Self-starting caused by process or equipment conditions, that is, the standby pump starts automatically when the flow rate falls below a critical value. Therefore, I think perhaps your second self-start condition isn’t very reasonable – or rather, a delay should be applied once the value drops below a certain level; the system should then initiate automatically after 5 seconds if the value remains below that threshold!
