For the heavy alkylbenzene sulfonic acid production plant, sulfurization processes generate small amounts of fuming sulfuric acid; it is intended to install an absorption tank – can an alkaline solution be used for absorption within this tank?
Theoretically, it should be possible, after all, it’s acid-base neutralization. However, the composition of the exhaust gases and cost also need to be considered.
The wastewater after absorption still needs to be treated. There isn’t much, so it can be absorbed by water!
It’s SO3 that is produced during the sulfonation process, right?
