Discuss the alarm system of FOXBORO IA

I’m using the IA’S system, and the process alarms are chaotic – many of them appear. Moreover, some modules have descriptions provided in IACC, but those descriptions aren’t displayed on the main interface; it’s necessary to restart the controller. This is indeed a flaw of IA. Recently, the operators requested that the AOUTR module for valves should generate an alarm when switching from automatic to manual mode; however, this module does not have a MAalm (manual alarm) function. I used a CIN block with its IN terminal connected to AOUTR’s MA. Please share how you handle alarms using your IA modules. How to avoid unnecessary module alarms
The process alarms are chaotic. For those useless alarms, simply Inhibit them. Boolean alarms are generally implemented using CIN and BLNALM.
