Selection of low-power solenoid valves for opening and closing valves

Pneumatic emergency shut-off valves generally require solenoid valves to cut off the air supply. 24VDC DC solenoid valves controlled by DCS/PLC are very common. Since the proper operation of these solenoid valves requires a certain voltage and power consumption, it is advisable not to place the valves too far away from the DCS/PLC station, in order to avoid voltage drops caused by excessive cable lengths. Some colleagues have suggested using solenoid valves with low power consumption (such as ASCO 8314). Is it common for people to choose solenoid valves with low power consumption in systems these days?
It’s too common; we all prefer low power consumption.
Low-power solenoids should be preferred during design
