These regulations are formulated to standardize the installation of safety signs and ensure safety during the production process. Requirements for the installation of safety warning signs: 1. Meaning and concept of safety warning signs 1. Safety warning signs include safety colors and safety signs. 2. Safety colors are colors that convey safety information, including red, blue, yellow, and green. (1) Red: Indicates prohibition, stop, danger, etc.; (2) Blue: Represents instructions, rules that people must follow; (3) Yellow: Serves to alert people; any devices, equipment, or environments that warn people to be cautious should be indicated in yellow; (4) Green: Conveys information indicating permission and safety. 3. Complementary colors are contrasting colors that make safety colors more prominent, including black and white. 4. Classification of safety signs: there are four categories – prohibition signs, warning signs, instruction signs, and guidance signs. (1) The basic format of a prohibition sign is a circular frame with slashes; (2) the basic format of a warning sign is a triangular frame; (3) the basic format of an instruction sign is a circular frame; (4) the basic format of a guidance sign is a square frame. II. Site Setup 1. During pipeline construction, set up warning lines around the openings created by earthwork excavation, place warning signs, and install hazard lights at night. When the construction site is located on a road, warning signs should be placed at an appropriate distance from the site in accordance with traffic regulations, or personnel should be assigned to manage traffic flow. 2. During site construction, safety warning signs should be installed at the entrance to the construction site, on scaffolds, at entry and exit passages, at stairways, at openings, at bridge entrances, at tunnel entrances, and along the edges of excavation pits. 3. Installation Requirements 1. Safety signs should be placed in prominent locations related to safety. There shall be no obstacles that obstruct public view in front of the sign or in its vicinity. When setting up warning signs for road construction, factors such as road curves and lighting at night must be taken into account. 2. Unless necessary, signs should generally not be placed on movable objects such as doors, windows, or shelves, nor in locations that are often obscured by other objects. 3. When setting up safety signs, it is necessary to avoid contradictions and repetitions in the content. Try to convey the necessary information using as few symbols as possible. 4. Directional assistance signs should be placed at the passages where the public chooses their direction, and should indicate the shortest route to the destination. 5. The safety signs installed should ensure that the viewing angle for most observers is close to 90°. 6. The size of safety signs shall meet the requirements of the relevant standards for signs. 7. Requirements for the installation of safety signs inside the premises and at their entrances and exits. V. Installation Methods 1. Methods 1.1 Attached type: Safety signs can be directly attached to buildings and other structures using methods such as nailing, sticking, or embedding. 1.2 Suspended type: The sign is hung in the appropriate position using rods, zippers, etc. 1.3 Column type: Fix the signboard on a sign post, positioning it near its indicator. 2. Gap 2.1 When two or more square safety signs are installed together, there should be a gap between each sign of at least 0.2 times the nominal size of the sign. 2.2 When two square signs in opposite directions are placed side by side, to avoid confusion, there should be at least one sign’s width of space between the two signs. 2.3 Two or more signs can be installed on a single sign post. But it cannot exceed 4. 2.4 They should be arranged in the order of warning signs (triangles), prohibition signs (circles with diagonal lines), and guidance signs (squares), from top to bottom and from left to right. 2.5 Depending on the installation location, the placement of signs shall comply with the standard requirements. 2.6 When square signs and signs of other shapes are installed together, the gap between a square sign and its sign post should be no less than 0.2 times the nominal size of the sign; the gap between signs of other shapes and their sign posts should be no less than 5 cm. 2.7 When two or more triangular (circular) signs, or signs that are triangular, circular, and square, are installed on the same sign post, the gap between each sign should be no less than 5 cm. 2.8 When two square sign plates are mounted on a single sign post, the gap between them should not be less than 0.2 times the nominal size of the sign. 3. Fixing methods 3.1 If safety signs attached for fixation are secured with nails, circular and triangular signs should generally be fixed at least at three points, while square and rectangular signs should be fixed at least at four points. The fixing point should be selected at the area with the edge substrate color. For signs glued in place, the back side should be coated with glue, or the edges and center point should be glued to ensure stability. 3.2 The safety signs installed for suspension shall be secured using at least two suspension rods (strings), and must not tilt after being hung. Lighter signs should be equipped with a more sturdy bracket before being hung. 3.3 Safety signs installed in a column style should be firmly fixed to the sign post using bolts, pipe clamps, etc.
