Is it absolutely necessary for the inlet pipe of a vertical vapor-liquid separator to be bag-free? What’s wrong with having a pouch shape? As the title says.
It depends on whether it is a gas-liquid mixture. If so, after condensation, it should move downward or horizontally continuously.
You are going to the gas-liquid separator anyway; the medium in question is a gas mixed with liquid. If there is a liquid reservoir, liquid will definitely accumulate at the lowest point, thereby blocking the flow of the medium; Similarly, with air bags, there will also be air resistance. If a bag is really necessary, install discharge and vent valves at the low and high points, but this is certainly not ideal, as it’s not possible to accurately determine the level of accumulation.

This is just your imagination; designs like this are very rare. It’s impossible to really increase the pressure in order to use gas to blow away that liquid at the lowest point. Reason: 1. The speed of the fluid in this bag may be very high; it could exceed the optimal speed for that medium, which would not be cost-effective. Moreover, for some special media, the speed requirements are even stricter ; 2. Moreover, your process calculations can’t be done just for your sake, taking your individual preferences into account ; There’s nothing special about it – why can’t we avoid having pockets?
