How to supply a signal to a four-wire instrument using a signal generator? Four-wire systems are passive; without power supply, no signal can be transmitted. Could some expert please advise on how to use a signal generator to send signals to a four-wire system? Thank you
You should disconnect the four-wire instruments at the site and send a signal to the DCS. Ordinary signal generators come in active and passive modes; for your situation, the passive mode will suffice.
