The valve located near the burner is a gate valve, while the one located further away from the burner is a globe valve Of these two valves, which one is used to regulate the fuel gas? The answer is open and not unique; discussions are welcome.......
The gate valve near the burner is a shut-off valve, while the globe valve far from the burner is a control valve.
A gate valve is a shut-off valve, while a globe valve is a control valve – and there are two reasons for this: 1) Globe valves allow for easy and precise flow regulation. 2) If you use a valve located near the burner to regulate the flow, that valve needs to be opened and closed repeatedly, which makes it prone to leakage; in such a case, you won’t have any valve left that can be used for shut-off purposes. Therefore, we use the valve located near the burner for safety purposes, as it shouldn’t be opened frequently!
