I’m not very familiar with this type of equipment, so I would like to ask the experts here: I’ve seen that some centrifugal compressors have an internal oil pump (which is referred to as the main oil pump in some documents), and some reciprocating compressors also have one. What you’re referring to is the shaft-end pump of a reciprocating compressor – that is, a gear oil pump or screw pump attached to the end of the crankshaft; centrifugal compressors don’t have such a pump.
To be more specific, there is a gear ring on the main shaft of the unit, and this gear ring is used to drive the driving end of a gear pump. Generally, the speed of this main shaft is around one to two thousand revolutions per minute; such shaft-mounted pumps are not used in centrifugal compressors with speeds of tens of thousands of revolutions per minute
It should be a shaft-mounted pump; they are generally found on reciprocating machines. It’s a gear pump, and centrifugal pumps have also been seen on steam turbines
Axial pump systems of this type exist in both centrifugal compressors and reciprocating compressors. In fact, axial pumps have their drawbacks; if they get damaged, it can lead to machine shutdown. In my opinion, axial pumps should not be used in designs!
The built-in oil pump (main oil pump) of the Ingersoll Rand C700 centrifugal compressor is located inside the gearbox for increasing speed; as for its structure, I haven’t seen it either.
By the way, it’s inside the gearbox; we have Shaanxi Blower’s E80-4 model, but I’m not familiar with its working principle or structure.

The oil pump built into a reciprocating compressor is a makeup oil pump; it is of piston type and is driven by the compressor’s crankshaft~~
Isn’t there also an auxiliary oil pump, the emergency oil pump?
