Why is thrusting used at the inlet of the sulfuric acid storage tank? Is it okay to go down?
My personal understanding: What you are referring to are the sulfuric acid storage tanks used at sites where sulfuric acid is applied. Such tanks are filled by transferring the substance into them, and the pipelines used for this transfer need to be disassembled and assembled frequently, which increases the likelihood of accidents. To prevent large amounts of sulfuric acid from leaking out of the tanks due to accidental leaks in these pipelines, an upper inlet is used.
The acid injection is continuous for most of the time, and if it is carried out manually, it places high demands on the pump, results in high energy consumption, and leaks are difficult to handle. Also, all the storage tanks in our facility are vertical.
Why do continuous operations place high demands on pumps and result in higher energy consumption? Ours is also vertical; does it mean that to allow fluid to flow in, the inlet needs to be placed 200 units below the bottom of the tank?
