Help!!! There is a single-acting cylinder cut-off valve (butterfly valve) in the factory, and recently it has stopped closing properly; it needs to be manually tightened into place using a large wrench each time. There is a bolt on each side of the cylinder, and some people say that these bolts are used to adjust the spring preload. I don’t know how to make this adjustment, so please advise me thoroughly, experts. Thank you!!!!
Appendix: This valve is of the air-operated type, closing under spring return force.

Disassemble the valve to check for any crystallized medium; if it is a diaphragm valve, the diaphragm needs to be replaced
Sorry for digressing; sometimes the same problem occurs when the gap between the valve core and the cylinder is too large
It is recommended that you first disassemble the valve body to determine the reason why the valve does not close properly, and then take appropriate action
Check whether the sealing rubber ring in the cylinder of the actuator is leaking air.
We encounter such problems frequently; it is quite likely that the valve plate is stuck. The bolts at both ends of the cylinder are used to limit the piston’s movement. It should be fine to move the part on the open side, but one should not adjust the side that is closed easily, as moving it might cause the valve plate to close too fully or not properly. To make adjustments, the valve has to be removed and adjusted by looking at it.
Personally, I suggest you first disassemble the valve body to find out why the valve doesn’t close properly before taking any action
First of all, do not disassemble it; the cylinder you’re referring to is likely a limit bolt. It seems that someone tightened these two bolts, which altered the cylinder’s stroke and as a result the valve cannot close properly. In our factory, we make a mark on the limit bolt after each valve has been adjusted. You can check if there are any markings indicating the factory calibration on your side; if so, adjust it to the factory setting and try again.
Take a few pictures and send them; that way everyone will know what your valve looks like
