In our company’s coking gasoline and diesel hydrogenation unit, the high amount of coke powder present in the coking mixture leads to frequent hydrogenation backwashing, and the direct feed system has not been put into use. Which company has officially put the direct feed system for raw materials in the coking gasoline and diesel hydrogenation unit into operation?
In coking, the material is generally taken out of the tank area and then fed back into the hydrogenation unit; there are also cases where the material is supplied directly, though this is less common. The key is to control the amount of coke powder in the coking process, as well as the coke powder content in the mixed oil coming out of the coking unit – regular inspections are necessary.
The dry gas produced by our coking unit contains coke powder, and the amount of this coke powder is significant. How can I reduce the amount of coking powder in coker gasoline and diesel as well as in dry gas?
There doesn’t seem to be any good solution; probably this is a problem that exists in coking industries across the country. Various production units are not happy with the products resulting from coking, mainly because coke dust is difficult to handle and it affects production. The only way to mitigate this issue is by adding more filtering facilities. I haven’t heard of any new technologies available. I hope experts will share their insights.
