Friends. In our company, during the production process, a solid-liquid suspension of chlorobenzene and NH4Cl is generated; the total amount per batch is around 2500 kg, with a solid content of approximately 40–90 kg. The particle size is around 70 mesh. The filtrate is sent to the subsequent system for collection and use, while the solids are either treated as hazardous waste or purified for further use. We are unsure as to which filtering equipment would be the most suitable. . . 1. Install a pipeline filter and use pressure filtration or suction filtration for treatment, but the filter needs to be disassembled and assembled after each batch, which is troublesome and requires a lot of labor. 2. Use a centrifuge lined with PE or PTFE, but is this appropriate given the large volume of liquid? 3. Plate and frame filter press; 4. Nh4Cl for purification – the cost seems a bit high. . . Can’t it be washed with water? Chlorobenzene is insoluble in water, while ammonium chloride is highly soluble
I forgot to mention that there is another substance in the solution that is hydrophobic and decomposes when it comes into contact with water; therefore, it cannot be washed with water. . . .
