Difference between demulsifiers and reverse-phase demulsifiers

The effects of demulsifiers and reverse-phase demulsifiers are the same; then why is there the term “reverse-phase”? Is there any direct difference between the two?
Simply put, demulsifiers are used to remove water from oil, while reverse demulsifiers are used to remove oil from water. I hope this helps you.
Does anyone know what non-ionic inverse demulsifiers are available these days, aside from polyethers and cationic types? Could anyone provide some meaningful literature and suggestions, with a small reward? Thank you
For electrodialysis desalination, we use oil-soluble demulsifiers, while for oil removal from the water at the top of the tower, we use water-soluble reverse demulsifiers. Recently, there are plans to add a reverse demulsifier to electrodesalination in order to address the high salt and water content in the crude oil after desalination
