For the evaluation of air separation equipment, the contract specifies that the comprehensive energy consumption of the product should be calculated based on shaft power. Nowadays, however, few users have devices for measuring shaft power; instead, cumulative values are measured using electricity meters. I would like to ask whether, for the evaluation of air separation equipment, motor power is used as the criterion? The motor power is much higher than the shaft power, which does not comply with the contract. How should the evaluation value be calculated? Hope to be of help.
The shaft power of a motor is the power actually consumed by the motor.
The active wattmeter calculates the electricity consumption, and multiplying this by the motor efficiency gives the shaft power.

Personally, I think the assessment of shaft power doesn’t have much practical significance; instead, energy consumption should be evaluated on an overall scale, for the entire factory.
