I am researching the preparation of 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) through the liquid-phase decomposition of 4,4′-diphenylmethane dicarbamate (MDC). During this process, I found that the yield was low, and some impurities present in the reaction mixture could not be analyzed quantitatively or qualitatively. Literature suggests the possibility of the existence of MDI dimers, but no reference standards are available. I am seeking a complete set of analytical methods for MDI liquid chromatography; if such comprehensive methods are available, I am willing to pay a high price for them or collaborate with universities and other research institutions. I am a researcher at an institute affiliated with Sinopec.

You are at the research level (equivalent to a professor), so this issue shouldn’t be a problem; at least your institution’s analysis and testing department has the necessary human resources available. Using chromatography-mass spectrometry as a testing method eliminates the need for standard samples, as qualitative analysis can be accurately performed based on the mass spectrum.
Perhaps it is in such units that the title of “researcher” is merely a job title, just like that of a regular clerk – what do you think? It’s not a professional title; it seems you have a thorough understanding of professional titles. But still, thanks for your reply
