Pipes and cable trays need to be installed in the firewall; can holes be drilled directly? Or embedded pipes? Please explain the basis, thank you!
Obviously, it’s not possible to do it directly; measures need to be taken or components that meet fire safety requirements must be used.
Since it’s a firewall, creating holes in it will directly affect its structure; of course, that’s not allowed. Otherwise, the fire protection requirements won’t be met

It is best not to create openings in the firewall, especially during the design phase; doing so for the sake of convenience is a bad idea, as various shortcuts taken during construction can lead to poor sealing. We have already suffered from such problems; it is recommended that the main pipes and cable trays in the building be routed around the firewall.
If things are handled strictly in accordance with the regulations, making holes in firewalls is not allowed. Yet, don’t many chemical companies do just that – make the holes first and then seal them up! There’s no other way; it has to be done this way!
