What are the different methods for sludge removal in clarifiers (settling tanks), and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Thank you all for helping me answer this question. Urgent! ! !

There are probably two types: one uses a pump for pumping, and the other relies on external water pressure. When using a pump, its operation and maintenance must be taken into account; when it comes to external water pressure, the water level needs to be considered. Generally, the sludge outlet of the external pressure type must be at least 1.5 meters below the water surface. No requirements for pump-driven type.
Sludge discharge at the bottom includes gravity sludge discharge and mechanical sludge discharge
The bottom sludge discharge pipe comes in the form of a sludge suction pipe or a straight pipe for sludge discharge
Gravity sludge discharge does not require electricity, while mechanical sludge discharge needs pumps for pumping; Mechanical sludge removal generates greater suction than gravity-based sludge removal, resulting in smoother sludge discharge.
It is rarely used at the bottom; it is generally employed temporarily when the sludge pipe at the bottom becomes blocked.
