Monoethanolamine is MEA, and dimethylethanolamine is MDEA.
1. Ethanolamine can be produced by reacting ammonia with ethylene oxide. Ethylene oxide and ammonia water are fed into a reactor, where a condensation reaction takes place at a reaction temperature of 30–40°C and a reaction pressure of 70.9–304 kPa, resulting in a mixture of monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, and small amounts of higher-chain ethanolamines. 2.
