In general design, the instrumentation discipline requires the piping discipline to take into account, when determining the locations for instrument installation, that local instruments should be easy to view and that valves equipped with handwheels should be easy to operate; no requirements are specified for remote-controlled instruments. In practice, however, sometimes the owners may point out that certain instruments are difficult to operate and request the installation of operation platforms, etc. Are there any regulations specifying the exact installation height and location of instruments? And at what height exactly must an operating platform be designed?
There are no specific requirements for this; the main considerations are ease of measurement and simplicity in operation and maintenance.

For the metering instruments on the pipe belt with pipelines on its left and right, we generally do not have an operation platform. There will be those with a single pipeline.
When designing pipelines, consideration should be given to the ease of maintaining instruments; if they are located at a high elevation, platforms need to be installed.
There are no specific regulations; it’s usually around 1.5, with each project setting its own rule. If a user makes a request, it is usually fulfilled as long as it does not violate relevant regulations and instrument installation requirements.

Thermocouples should be installed at a high location, in a place where they can be easily replaced or serviced, while devices such as transmitters need to be placed on the ground or on a platform; again, this is to facilitate maintenance, calibration, or replacement.
This requires coordination with the design and construction parties during the construction phase; it should be installed in a location that facilitates maintenance and construction, of course, on the condition that the measurement requirements are met!
