Generally, failures in the main travel mechanism of a crane cause severe vibration and noise during the braking process. The main reasons for severe vibration and noise are as follows: 1. The effect of inertial forces generated during the startup or braking of the crane ； 2. The operator performs actions in violation of regulations or makes operational errors; for example, the crane moves in the opposite direction suddenly, causing the motor to reverse and generating excessive shock torque. 3. The reducer lubricant of the crane is low. 4. Due to the adjusted inclination of the braking mechanisms on both sides of the main vehicle’s driving mechanism, a discrepancy in braking torque occurs on these two sides during braking, which leads to lateral torsion and subsequent vibration.
