As the title suggests, there is currently a process design for a chloromethane spherical tank. The question is: what happens to the chloromethane that is released by the safety valve of this tank? I would appreciate it if experts could help me with this
I also asked this question before, and no one replied. In the end, we considered two options: the first was to burn it at an elevated torch, but it had to burn completely; otherwise phosgene would be produced, which would be even more harmful; Another option is high-altitude emission, and the second one was adopted after taking the client’s opinions into account.
Given the current environmental situation, it definitely needs to be dealt with; it just depends on the solution chosen
The properties of chloromethane mean that it does not react readily either; using a flare system is not practical for the discharge from a single storage tank on an intermittent basis, so it is likely that the gas must be vented at a higher altitude
Chloromethane is a highly hazardous substance; could its direct release into the atmosphere pose a poisoning risk to people in the surrounding area?
Previous devices all had emissions at higher points. With strict environmental regulations now, it must be treated, and in that case, high-temperature incineration is the only option. This thing is hard to deal with; it’s quite troublesome
