Device fire protection pipeline

Last week, the fire department came to our company for an inspection and said that the fire protection system for the process equipment should be connected directly to the fire protection piping network, whereas we were using hose connections. I would like to ask which standard this requirement comes from?

Petrochemical regulations require the installation of fire protection risers in such facilities; I think using hoses for connections is no problem (it also saves on insulation and heating in winter), but it is not safe from an operational perspective.
