Yes, a double-layer casing is needed. Due to the thickening of the fire dike, the original casing was not long enough; moreover, the original casing was severely corroded. To add another layer of casing, it was necessary to cut the new casing and fit it on. As you said, does welding have an impact on the oil pipelines inside the casing? One more question: the sleeve is generally one size larger than the inner tube. For a 100-sized tube, a 150-sized sleeve is usually used; however, the contractor is using a 200-sized sleeve here. Will this cause any problems with sealing? Are there any regulations prohibiting such use?
Why is there a flame in welding? If you insulate the original pipes with thermal insulation material or fireproof blankets and control the welding temperature, it should help reduce potential risks, but I’m not from this industry, so I can’t guarantee that there will be no problems.

It is generally not allowed for pipelines to pass through the body of a fire dike; if passage is necessary, sleeves must be embedded in advance, with a tight connection between the sleeves and the dike structure. This type of construction is extremely dangerous; the key issue is arc discharge. Oil pipelines contain flammable substances such as oil and gas, so it is not advisable to perform welding work directly outside the pipes! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
