It is now necessary to add 4 two-wire transmitters to the control room. Since the project was carried out a long time ago, there are no cables available, so rewiring is required. Running 4 two-core cables seems like too much work, while using 1 eight-core cable appears unsafe. What are everyone’s thoughts on this? {:3_46:}
Why isn’t an 8-core version safe? A single screen or split screen is fine! But a junction box needs to be added in the middle!
If using cable trays, tying 4 two-core cables together and pulling them should not be too much work, right? If you’re afraid of hassle, 2 four-core cables will do; P. There is no problem with the eight-core shielded cable either; an explosion-proof junction box can be added on-site ; I have worked on 32-core ones as well. Also, what is your distance? Approximately how many meters?
The main cable uses 6*2*1.0 (or 1.5, depending on the distance), with junction boxes installed nearby at the site; there are also two spare cores, which I think is better than using 4 cables.
In our company, 32-core cables are used for the connection from the JB box to the DCS, over a distance of around 400 meters. No problem at all
Well, I’ve decided to use a 10-core main screen with split screens. The reason is that in the old projects, some multi-core cables didn’t have split screens, which caused interference and made everything unusable; it was quite problematic
When ordering multi-core wires, ask the manufacturer to label them with the wire numbers; for a length of 350 meters, it is recommended to use two-core wires
A single screen or split screens will suffice; additionally, two sets can be reserved as spare wires, so that no new cables need to be installed in case of future modifications or issues with the existing wiring!
A two-core cable is recommended; it’s stable and simple.
