Crevice corrosion is likely to occur between the titanium flange and the gasket; is it acceptable to use a flexible graphite gasket for the sealing surface of TA2 flanges?

Firstly, TA2 flanges are specifically used in industrial control applications. When the temperature is below 670 degrees, the loss of graphite is less than 4% per hour; since there are no titanium-based gaskets available for use with graphite-reinforced gaskets, materials such as 316 are generally used, and they work just fine. If the temperature is above 670 degrees, it is recommended to use metal wound gaskets with a titanium inner ring and an outer ring made of a material with slightly lower properties – this approach offers greater safety and reliability. This is just my personal suggestion.
