I want to build a Fenton reactor by myself to treat 30-40 cubic meters of wastewater per day; I plan to use a reactor tank with stirring, and the interior will be lined with fiberglass for corrosion protection. Are there any things I need to keep in mind? Is it necessary to add baffles or packing inside the reactor tank? It would be great if you could provide some design drawings.
Adding baffles can improve mixing efficiency; if the water temperature is not high, a fiberglass reinforced plastic mixing tank can be used directly.
It is designed with baffles and stirring; sufficient reaction time is all that’s needed.

This is easy. The quality of the Fenton effect depends on using it immediately; over time, it can have a negative impact on its effectiveness. The best results are achieved by using a reactor that enables an instant Fenton reaction, the immediate generation of hydroxyl radicals, and a rapid reaction of these hydroxyl radicals with the target substance. Hydroxyl radicals exist for only a very short time; in stirrer-type or baffled-type Fenton reactors, by the time the Fenton reaction takes place, most of the hydroxyl radicals may already have disappeared before they can react with the target substance.
What was said upstairs is absolutely correct; the key lies in the “instant”. Could you roughly describe your reaction process? A dedicated machine that integrates Fenton generation and reaction can be designed.
