Is the difference in the structure between single-acting and double-acting cylinders determined by whether there is a spring for reset? If there is a spring for reset, it’s a single-acting cylinder; if there is no such reset mechanism, it’s a double-acting cylinder?

For linear travel, this can be considered; for angular travel, such a judgment cannot be made
Can you see the spring with the naked eye? Some valves are double-acting and have springs added on one side of the cylinder. For single-acting and double-acting types, you just need to check whether the cylinder or diaphragm head has air supply on one side only or on both sides; the former is single-acting, while the latter is double-acting. Whether there is a return spring, as you determine it, still depends on the number of air supply input points for the cylinder.
Single-acting valves are restored by a spring, while double-acting valves do not have a spring inside them.
