1. Centrifugal pumps generally need to be primed first, but at the production site the outlet is closed after the pump was shut down previously, so the pump is started directly. But be careful with the exhaust; usually, drainage is done from the drain port of the pressure gauge at the pump outlet. It’s fine as long as there is direct startup with remote initiation. 2. Special attention must be paid to the inlet and outlet valves as well as the valve on the return pipe of the screw pump when starting it up. Start with a low opening degree; only after there are no abnormal noises or vibrations should the opening degree be increased gradually. 3. No-seal pump. Be sure to open the valve on the return pipe first to prevent surging pressure. After turning it on, check whether the vibration indicator light is abnormal. 4. Diaphragm pump. It is sufficient to master the basic operations of gear pumps and similar devices. Before starting a positive displacement pump, it is necessary to check the oil level and the quality of the oil in the shaft seal tank. It is generally maintained regularly by dedicated maintenance personnel. If the pump fails to deliver sufficient flow, the reasons could be: 1. Clogged pipelines, especially those transporting granular materials or substances with high viscosity; dead ends, bends, and areas where the diameter changes in the pipelines are prone to blockages. 2. Air entrainment in the pump; this can be resolved by allowing fluid to flow back from a higher point, though this situation is not common. 3. The pump motor is damaged; 4. An outlet vent is usually installed for exhaust; it’s not appropriate to remove the pressure gauge in this case
Centrifugal pumps need to be classified according to the type of pump, and attention must also be paid to the medium inside; they cannot simply be discharged arbitrarily.
