Seeking guidance! Each painting booth applies 1,500 kg of paint per month. As for the amount of paint binder, it is planned to install activated carbon at the exhaust outlet of the painting booth; but activated carbon must be quite expensive! I couldn’t find that manufacturer of steam regeneration equipment even on Baidu; if it can’t carry out regeneration, it has to be replaced once a month. Given my painting volume, it needs to be replaced monthly. Installing two cubic meters of activated carbon in the two exhaust ducts costs 20,000 yuan! It’s too expensive! Does catalytic combustion in drying ovens eliminate the need to replace activated carbon?

One cubic meter of activated carbon costs 10,000 yuan; with five exhaust ducts in total, the cost comes to 50,000 yuan. We need to replace the activated carbon every month due to the amount of painting we do!
With catalytic combustion, you’ll know the answer once you replace the catalyst; activated carbon often has a limited lifespan due to adsorption and desorption processes. For drying exhaust gases, an RTO is recommended, and partial recirculation of air can be considered to increase concentration
Activated carbon can be recycled. . . Take the activated carbon you’ve removed and have it recycled by someone. . . It shouldn’t come at such a high cost
It’s also a problem if the activated carbon that has been used for adsorption cannot be regenerated or if no company is available to recycle it. Activated carbon that has been used for adsorption is considered hazardous waste, and it can only be processed by manufacturers with the appropriate qualifications. What type of activated carbon do you have? Coconut shell or coal-based? It’s so expensive. I suggest you make a comparison: activated carbon, liquid spray adsorption, RTO, plasma, UV photolysis ； Consider investment costs, operating costs, and safety reliability.
