The material for the centrifugal pump base can be cast steel
Sure, there are many pump bases made by welding carbon steel channel steel and steel plates; especially for pumps produced in small batches, cast iron bases are not used as the cost is too high.
HT200 will do; for small pumps, it’s simpler – just use channel steel and angle steel and weld them together
Q235 steel plates can be used for the base; we have tried folding them and making some adjustments to use them as the bottom plate of pumps, which is a more convenient approach. . .
Welded fabrication of Q235 channel steel. After completing the base, aging treatment must be carried out to eliminate internal stresses (natural aging method, thermal aging method, vibration aging method, static overloading method, thermal shock aging method, ultrasonic aging method). If no aging treatment is carried out, the base will deform and become unstable, affecting concentricity and causing pump vibration.
Cast iron or Q235 steel, with good strength and stiffness, and minimal deformation
These days, steel sections are mostly used in welding to save costs; cast iron and cast steel are too expensive. As long as the strength requirements are met, after the foundation bolts of the pump are installed, the concrete is poured in again to fill all the spaces around the steel sections, without affecting its performance
