How are the allowable stress and allowable thermal expansion displacement for equipment nozzles calculated? Where can I learn*?
This is essentially the calculation of the local stress at the pipe opening due to the load on that opening.
PVElite includes calculations for the loads applied to equipment nozzles for reference, but the loads on these nozzles should be provided by process engineers.
The allowable stress at the equipment nozzle should be a local stress
