The domestic wastewater treatment plant has a capacity of 100,000 tons, and currently it can treat 86,000 tons of water per day. The inlet COD is 100, BOD is 40, ammonia nitrogen is 11, and total phosphorus is 2. In the biological treatment tank, the MLSS is 4500 and the MLVSS is 1500. Due to the high-pressure blower currently in use, the DO level remains above 5, with an external recirculation rate of 40%. The current situation is that the water quality is high in SS in the morning, while it is clearer in the afternoon. I would like to know what causes the high SS levels in the water in the morning; could it be due to excessive aeration?
This is mainly caused by changes in temperature. The greater the difference between air temperature and water temperature, the more pronounced the convection in the secondary sedimentation tank, which can lead to the floating of light sediment.
